Blessing of the Backpacks

Let’s Bless our Students & All Those Who Work at Schools

Please join us on Sunday August 18th for our annual outdoor worship service on the south lawn where we’ll hear from our youth about their summer experiences and bless the school bags of students and all folks who work at schools.  As part of the Lutheran denomination, who began the first public schools in the world, back in the 1500’s, we continue to value education and educators and we’ll ask God’s blessings on each child and adult and their backpacks.   Be blessed! Bring your backpack or workbag with you to worship and join us as we celebrate the beginning of a new school year.

P.S.  As this is an outdoor worship service, there will be some seating on the concrete patio but we recommend that you bring your own seating for the lawn so that you are as comfortable as possible.
